Ceramic Band Heater are very flexible and can be made in big widths and integrated structure, which is convenient for installation, eliminates the heat loss between narrow bands, and greatly reduces the labor cost during installation.
Before installation and during operation, it is necessary to clean the surface of the barrel and ceramic band heaters without any contamination. These contaminants may liquefy at high temperatures and enter the heater elements, carbonize and conduct electricity.The minimum amount of contamination will cause a short circuit, which will lead to heater failure.
Tighten the socket cap screw until the serrated edge is in direct contact with the barrel to obtain uniform contact. Do not over tighten, as to the point where serrated edges begin to collapse and thrust outwards. Ceramic band heater is different with other types band heater, they are based on the principle of conduction and radiation and do not require the same clamping force required by other types of band heaters.
Install adequate temperature controllers to prevent overheating and heater failure.Thermocouples must be kept free of contaminants and checked for good response to temperature changes. A bad thermocouple can be the cause of destroying an entire heating zone.
Properly protect all electrical connections to avoid accidents.
Incorrect wiring is the common reason of heater burning out.
The qualified person shall be responsible for the electrical wiring of the heater.
Do not perform any type of maintenance on the heater without disconnecting all power supplies.
